Dr. James Thacker, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta GA; completed his internship at Lloyd Noland Hospital, Birmingham, AL; and completed his residency in Anesthesia at Medical College of Georgia. 

He practiced as an Anesthesiologist for 15 years and was the Director of Anesthesiology for Parkway Medical Center Hospital, Decatur for seven (7) years. 

Having personally had numerous back surgeries, Dr. Thacker pursued Pain Management as a way to get himself and others out of pain. While practicing anesthesiology, Dr. Thacker practiced Pain Management in Decatur, AL. He completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine/Interventional Pain Medicine at California Spine Institute and moved to Colorado, where he practiced Pain Management for another 10 years. In 2011, Dr. Thacker moved his practice back to the Huntsville area to rejoin his three (3) children and extended family, and opened Huntsville Pain Management. 

Seeing the need to further help his Pain Management patients as well as other struggling patients, Dr. Thacker expanded his practice to include BioIdentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) and Treatment for Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).
