Currently, more than 250,000 individuals live with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), also known as RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy), and around 90,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. At Huntsville Pain Management, our team begins with a detailed screening to determine the most effective care plan and to ensure no other urgent conditions are present.
CRPS is a chronic neurological condition that typically develops after an injury — even something as minor as a paper cut or sprain. Although the initial injury may heal, severe and persistent nerve pain can remain. The condition most commonly affects the arms or legs and is sometimes accompanied by symptoms of Raynaud’s Syndrome, such as cold sensitivity or color changes in the skin.
Many patients begin to feel noticeable relief during the first week of treatment.
