Transform Your Life with Replenish Wellness Center

Sciatica

Sciatica affects between 10% and 40% of the population, making it a common yet often misunderstood condition. At Huntsville Pain Management, each patient begins with a detailed screening by a qualified practitioner to determine the appropriate care plan and to rule out any urgent spinal or neurological concerns.

Sciatica is caused by pressure or irritation of the sciatic nerve, typically where it exits the lumbar spine in the lower back. Although the origin of the condition is in the back, the pain is most commonly felt in the buttock, thigh, and can extend all the way down to the foot. It may develop gradually, often without an obvious injury, and usually affects only one side of the body.

Symptoms can range from mild discomfort to intense pain that interferes with sleep, mobility, and daily function. Many patients begin to feel noticeable relief during the first treatment, with substantial improvement as the protocol continues.

Common Symptoms of Sciatica:

  • Pain that begins in the buttock and travels down the thigh
  • Discomfort extending to the lower leg and foot
  • Lower back pain or stiffness
  • Burning or tingling sensations along the leg
  • Numbness or weakness in the leg or foot
  • Deep aching pain that disrupts walking, standing, or sleep
